Position Paper: Prescription Medication Internet Sales
It is the position of The New York County Medical Society that it is unethical and it should be condemned that prescription medication advertised on the Internet can be sent to patients without a physician’s prescription or approval. It is also considered unethical for physicians who will write prescriptions for patients on the Internet without physically seeing the patient, examining the patient or discussing the problem with the patient.
