Scott, J Belsley, Director of Robotic Surgery

A graduate of Brown University (B.S. Neurosciences, 1995) and the Columbia College of Physicians & Surgeons (1999), Dr. Belsley specializes in minimally invasive approaches employing robotics, advanced laparoscopy and translumenal surgery to address gastrointestinal pathology from the esophagus to the colon. Dr. Belsley completed his general surgical training at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center (1999-2002 and 2003-2005), where he was the recipient of the first Charles McBurney Prize (2001) for outstanding research contributions during his surgical training. In recognition of his interest in emerging surgical techniques, Dr. Belsley was awarded a research fellowship in Robotic Surgery (2002-2003). He followed this training with concurrent fellowships in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery, Robotic Surgery and Bariatric Surgery (as the Ethicon Bariatric Surgery Fellow) at the Hackensack University Medical Center. Dr. Belsley is certified by the American Board of Surgery.
